Music in the Grand Old Tradition
Product Information
The phrase “Music in the Grand Old Tradition” was given to us by the manager of the Eagle Waters Resort in Eagle River , Wisconsin , around 1990. He liked the band, and came up with that phrase to promote the band when we played there. Gary has since dropped he “old” and uses “Music in the Grand Tradition” as the band’s mantra. (Gary had to look mantra up in a dictionary more than once in his life, so you may too!!!). In fact, the phrase became the title for this polka/waltz CD. Lawrence Duchow’s music has probably been the greatest musical factor in Gary ’s life, and various selections on this CD feature three Duchow alumni—Bob Lorenz and Dick Metko team up on some twin accordion work, and Lovell “Ooody” Ives plays some lead trumpet.
